- The FWRDWA in collaboration with the Gauteng Department of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment is currently in process whereby the Association is donating approximately 2 400 hectares to the Abe Bailey Nature Reserve. This will make the nature reserve more sustainable with a higher environmental classification.
- The Association is proud to announce that a donation of approximately 600 ha to the Merafong City Local Municipality and the West Rand District Municipality has been finalised. This land is earmarked for housing development around Carletonville.
- In collaboration with the Gauteng Infrastructure Financing Agency and Sibanye-Stillwater the FWRDWA has identified land for the development of five Solar PV and BESS projects totalling approximately 1 700 hectares.
- The Association allocated approximately 3 300 hectares to six successful bidders to be developed for Solar PV and BESS. Option- and notarial leases is currently negotiated.
